Christmas Lights for Sweetwater Homes
Sweetwater is the First Colony section built around Sweetwater Country Club, with two 18-hole courses, Pecan and Cypress, and lakes running through the neighborhood. Development began in the early 1980s, west of Highway 6 and north of Commonwealth Boulevard, and the homes are large, many of them on the fairways or the water.
Forty years in, that combination is ideal for holiday lighting. The trees are fully grown, the houses have long rooflines with several levels and gables, and a lot of homes are seen as much from the course or across a lake as from the street. A display that only covers the front misses half of how the house is seen.
We design both sides together, price the roofline by the foot so the number is clear, and handle installation, service calls through the season and takedown after New Year.
Lighting Golf Course and Lakeside Homes
Sweetwater's layout brings up the same four questions on most walkthroughs.
The fairway side
Homes on the Pecan and Cypress courses are seen from the course every evening. The back roofline, terrace and pool area are planned with the front.
Reflections on the lakes
On lakeside lots, runs are hung level and evenly spaced, because every sag shows twice in the water.
Forty-year-old trees
Mature oaks and pines often outgrow the house. Trunk and lower-canopy wraps make them part of the display without lighting every limb.
First Colony guidelines
Sweetwater falls under the First Colony Community Association. Seasonal lighting is common, and we can give you a design preview if anyone asks for details.
Price Your Sweetwater Roofline
Sweetwater homes tend to have long, many-sectioned rooflines, so we keep the math simple: $6 per foot for warm white C9 LED, $800 minimum. Move the slider to your footage.
- That price includes design, installation, repairs during the season and removal in January
- Fairway or lake-side elevations, oak wraps, entry lighting and color are priced after a walkthrough
- Most Sweetwater homes fall between 200 and 450 feet. We measure yours before quoting
Roofline only. We confirm the final price after an on-site measurement.
Sweetwater Streets and Sections We Light
The neighborhood is one community, but where a home sits changes what should be lit first.
Pecan course homes
Homes along the Pecan course, where the back of the house faces the fairway and deserves its own design.
Cypress course homes
Homes on the Cypress course, often with terraces and pools that face the course.
Lakeside streets
Homes that back onto Sweetwater's lakes, where level warm-white lines double in the reflection.
Sweetwater Estates
Bigger homes on generous lots, where entries, drives and long rooflines all come into play.
The Enclave at Sweetwater
A smaller section of the neighborhood with its own streets and a close, consistent look.
Commonwealth side
Homes toward Commonwealth Boulevard, near Commonwealth Elementary and Clements High.
We light homes throughout Sweetwater, including streets like Pipers Walk and Greensward Lane, and across First Colony and the rest of Sugar Land.
